4th of July

Well, a little late on telling you how our 4th went, but we have been busy... good busy, but busy. Since last year Scott was ity-bity and slept through fireworks from the comfort of his bed, we knew this year was his first real 4th expereience... however, as most of you know, it's rained... and rained... and rained... We had all given up on anything, but then at 8pm.. the clouds parted and the last minute call was done to say we are going to fireworks! Since the fireworks don't start until after 9, Scott was really tired, but was a trouper as we got our spot and waited for the show. He did watch the fireworks, but he wasn't all that interested... just too tired to care.

Hopefully next year we will have better weather and can 'redo' Scott's fireworks experience. Although, our town doesn't do fireworks on the 4th. They have a bigger celebration for Labor Day, so give him a little time and we can try to take him to fireworks again!

Also, I had finally made my first cupcakes from my new cookbook. I did Strawberry cupcakes as I thought they were most appropriate for the holiday... however.. since the rain spoiled the day, the cupcakes sat in the fridge... they did get handed out later for friends to enjoy and got good reviews. However, I did let Scott do a sample.. and of course, it got great reviews!
